AYS&B VISION & MISSION

Vision Statement

To provide opportunities through softball and baseball for all children in our community to develop skills, build friendships and grow as community members through competition, fair play, and fun.

Mission Statement

AYS&B is committed to providing a safe, respectful, affordable, and fun softball and baseball experience for the youth in the Altoona School District, Township of Washington, and nearby communities.  We will work cooperatively with our community and league partners to provide a positive experience for all.

Values

  • At all times, the welfare of the children will guide the decisions of our executives and our coaches.

  • Our programs will promote good sportsmanship and fair play while developing youth athletics.

  • Through words and actions, everyone associated with AYS&B will lead by example to promote respect for each other, our players, opponents, parents, and game officials.

  • All children will be given equal opportunities in practices and games to develop as players, teammates, and community members that we would be proud to have represent Altoona.

  • The physical and mental well being of our children will be protected at all times. Bullying, profanity, violence, derogatory comments, ridicule or any other behavior that conflicts with AYS&B values will not be tolerated.

  • Baseball and softball are games and should be FUN. We will always seek opportunities to promote an enjoyable and developmental experience

AYS&B Board Meetings

Our board meetings play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AYS&B. We welcome community involvement and value your input!

Regular Meeting Schedule

Our board meetings are typically held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm at the Altoona High School.  We encourage anyone interested to attend and share their thoughts!

Attending Meetings

Our February, May, August, and November meetings dedicate the first hour to an open topics proposed by community members. This is a great opportunity to discuss ideas and suggestions directly with the board.  Reaching out to any board member ahead of time about your topic will help ensure everyone is prepared to have a productive discussion.

If you'd like to discuss a specific topic at any other board meeting, please contact our League Secretary below to get your topic added to the agenda.

AYS&B Board of Directors

The AYS&B Board of Directors is a team of committed volunteers focused on maintaining softball and baseball as key activities in our community. Our goal is straightforward: to ensure that children enjoy their time on the field, reflecting the spirit and fun of the game. We volunteer with a clear purpose - to enhance and support the AYS&B community to the best of our abilities.
